Job summary: The Kindergarten at Rosemary Hill is seeking a dedicated and experienced nursery school teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding and passion for the Waldorf approach to education and be committed to providing a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for children aged 4-5 years old.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver a Waldorf-inspired seasonal lesson plan that is developmentally appropriate for children aged 4-5 years old.
  • Create and maintain a warm, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment that supports the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of each child.
  • Incorporate daily, weekly and seasonal rhythms and rituals into the classroom, including storytelling, puppetry, singing, and movement.
  • Provide a range of artistic activities, including painting, drawing, clay modelling, and crafts.
  • Foster a love of nature and the environment through outdoor play and exploration.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and school administration to ensure each child’s needs are met.
  • Attend professional development training and stay up to date with Waldorf pedagogy and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of each child’s progress and communicate with parents regularly.
  • Provide individualised attention and support to each child in your care.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a recognised ECD diploma.
  • SACE registered.
  • Waldorf teacher training or certification will be advantageous.
  • Experience teaching children aged 4-5 years old in a Waldorf or similar environment.
  • Deep understanding of the Waldorf approach to education and child development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and school administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
  • Passion for working with young children and their families.
  • Be willing to work flexible hours.
  • Non-smoker.
  • Own transport.
